Date set for the first Valencian Grand Prix

THE VALENCIAN Grand Prix will be held on August 24, 2008; a big day in the sporting calendar since it is also the last day of the Beijing Olympics. The International Automobile Federation (FIA) released the provisional dates for Formula One last week, which now, with the addition of Valencia and Singapore, brings the number up to 18. Two of the races will be held in Spain; the first is Montmeló, Barcelona on April 27. Valencia will have to hurry sinceit only has 13 months to establish the urban circuit, which must first be approved by the FIA and then by the racing drivers themselves.
